North Vietnam

During our 2009 trip to North Vietnam, we visited Hanoi, Sapa and Ha Long Bay.

Overview

Hanoi was full of millions of motorbikes that buzzed all around you when you tried to cross the street. Sapa was a tiny village up in the mountains near the Chinese border and in Ha Long Bay our view from a Junk Boat included hundreds of islets whose limestone formations contributed to the austere and exquisite landscapes.

Features

  • Overnight Victoria Express Train to Sapa
  • Stayed at the Victoria Sapa Spa
  • Visit to the Hanoi Hilton
  • Three nights on a Junk Boat

A Visit To Sapa

Sapa is a remote town in Northern North Vietnam near the border with China. It is a market town where several ethnic minority groups such and the Hmong and Yao live. Their ancestors emigrated from China years ago. The people of each group retain their historic attire and ways of life.
